DID YOU KNOW? Estheticians undergo between 600 and 1500 hours of training and apprenticeship to earn their certifications and diplomas, while professional caregivers typically receive only 6 hours of dementia care training. Additionally, unpaid caregivers are often expected to provide complex dementia care without any preparation.
We teach families, individuals, and professionals knowledge, awareness, and care skills using Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care® (PAC®) program to care for People Living with Dementia (PLWDs).

Understanding the Caregiver’s Journey
Dementia is not merely a statistic; it represents one of the most urgent health challenges facing Canada today.
Every day, 350 new families begin caring for a loved one with dementia.
By 2030, nearly 1 million Canadians are expected to be living with dementia.
The impact of dementia affects not only those diagnosed but also the health and
well-being of their caregivers.Family and friends contribute 580 million hours of dementia care each year.
This caregiving effort is equivalent to the work done by approximately 290,000 full-time employees.
Caregivers provide crucial care, safety, and emotional support, often at a high personal cost.
At SKC, we offer more than just training; through a consultation, we can build a customized step-by-step care plan roadmap to prepare you for this journey (legal, financial, medical, your well-being, extra support, products, and resources.
